The patients complained of gastrointestinal symptoms of variable degree, including abdominal pain, epigastric pain, and indigestion. After administration of anthelmintics and MgSO4, diarrheic stools were collected individually for 2-3 hr.

Other helminths recovered included O. viverrini, Haplorchis taichui, Haplorchis pumilio, Haplorchis yokogawai, Prosthodendrium molenkampi, Phaneropsolus bonnei, hookworms, Trichuris trichiura, Trichostrongylus sp., Enterobius vermicularis, and Taenia sp. [4].
