Fig. 2 Relative expression (OD/mm) of Plasmodium falciparum and Babesia microti 18S rRNA genes in blood of our patient using quantitative real-time PCR. Positive results for P. falciparum and negative results for babesiosis (B. microti) are seen. Values are from OD/mm of each group (mean±SD of triplicated wells) divided by that of the housekeeping gene (β-actin). Significant differences (*P<0.05) were noted compared to negative controls.
